“RECOGNISING AND REWARDING EXCELLENCE IN THE PLASTICS INDUSTRY”
In 2017, we are once again delighted to be finalists in the prestigious Plastics Industry Awards, and this year in two different categories. The categories are for ‘Best Technology Application of the Year’ as well as ‘Best Training & Development Programme of the Year’. This follows on from last year’s success as a finalist in the ‘Business Initiative of the Year’ category.
Our finalist’s nominations for 2017 demonstrate how Polymer Compounders Limited prides itself on key staff retention as well as training development for the future. We work with the continued support of Cogent and their commitment to ‘upskilling’ in the Plastics Industry.
At Polymer Compounders Limited we have a highly active R&D programme which is bringing the best possible engineered thermoplastic products to market by utilising its core competencies to create excellent ‘next generation’ products. Just one example of this is the automotive specific PC-ABSCOM B200C, which is now most notably used on the Nissan Juke and Qashqai.
“Due to its versatility, this grade has replaced multiple other products that were previously being used for many different applications, meaning reduced inventory levels and a more simplified supply chain for the specifiers.” (Stephen Blair, Technical Manager).
Steve Crowhurst, Managing Director of Crain Communications UK, which organises the PIAs and publishes PRW believes that “The PIAs are the best way to celebrate excellence in the UK plastics industry.”
“We are once again extremely proud at Polymer Compounders Limited to be short-listed in two categories, the enthusiasm within our team here in Durham is fantastic.” Says Grahame Houlder Managing Director.
The awards winners will be announced at the annual ceremony held in London on the 27th October. More information about the ceremony can be found here. If you are coming, let us know; it will be a pleasure to see you there, and once again celebrate the success stories in our industry.
