Our PC-ABSCOM™ products are blends of Polycarbonate and ABS. By playing on the proportion of the main components and by adding additives such as flame retardant, heat, UV stabilisers and pigments, we are able to deliver a range of products to suit your needs. The use of PC ABS resins is recommended for thin-wall applications.

Our PC/ABS compound grades (PC-ABSCOM) are frequently used in the automotive industry.

What is PC/ABS plastic?

Polycarbonate/Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (PC/ABS) is a blended material combining the strengths of Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) plastics. This blend results from the physical mixing of polycarbonate and ABS polymers, which provides a unique balance of properties. The polycarbonate component contributes to the material’s overall strength and heat resistance. It is ideal for applications requiring durability and high-temperature tolerance. On the other hand, ABS provides good toughness, impact resistance, and processability.

The critical advantage of PC/ABS plastic over its components is its superior balance of stiffness, toughness, and heat resistance. These characteristics make PC/ABS an excellent choice for various applications, mainly where robustness and high performance are essential.

Critical Characteristics of PC/ABS Plastic
• Excellent impact strength, even at low temperatures, due to the ABS component.
• Improved heat resistance and mechanical properties from the polycarbonate.
• Good processability and ease of manufacturing.
• Higher toughness compared to pure polycarbonate.
• Better dimensional stability and colourability than pure ABS.
• Resistance to cracking and warping under stress.

PC/ABS Plastic Datasheets

Here are our main grades. Clicking on a specific grade name will give you access to a summary of the datasheet. If you require a full datasheet, with more test results and details on the processing recommendations, please go here. If the datasheets for the polymer compounds you’re looking for are not on there, please contact us directly at Polymer Compounders and one of the team will be more than happy to assist you. Each datasheet has been composed by a company working to an ISO9001:2015 standard and should not be taken to be approved or sanctioned by the auditor to this standard.
